Armed Robbers Bombed a Police Station and a New Generation Bank......



   Just Last month  armed robbers bombed a divisional police headquarters and a branch of a bank in Kabba, Kogi State, similar occurrence happened yesterday morning when an armed gang invaded Gbedde community where they bombed a police station and a new generation bank.


     Unlike the Kabba incidence where two policemen were killed, yesterday’s incidence had no casualty as the policemen in the station all fled on sighting the robbers.
 The armed robbers numbering 15, were said to have also carted away arms and ammunition and set free those in the police cell before they decided to bomb the police station.

According to an eyewitness The robbers were said to have proceeded to the bank which was near the police station and threw a dynamite to gain entrance into the banking hall.
The robbers stormed the community at about 4.00am yesterday morning and came in four Sport Utility Vehicles (SUVs) and operated for more than one hour before they zoomed off.

One of the policemen at the station who spoke to Daily Sun on condition of anonymity, said, immediately the robbers stormed the police station; they first depleted the police armoury, carting away guns and ammunition before bombing the station.

Although, the robbers’ effort to gain entry into the bank’s vault failed, the incident was said to have sent panic to the residents of the town which is about 10 minutes drive from Kabba.
Most of the residents who spoke to Daily Sun expressed fear that they may not be able to access their cash at the bank for the celebration of Christmas, as most commercial banks in the area have indefinitely shut their doors against their customers for the fear of unknown.
